Soon
we will welcome 2005, another year upon
us with promises for resolutions both
personal and professional by most of us.
In my last newsletter, a few months ago,
you found me forecasting the end of extreme
difficulties for the economy. At that time,
I quoted several National sources predicting
a severe shortage of skilled workers and
the ensuing problem employers would have
replacing “boomers” as they
retire and the lean staffs they have endured
with the recent business climate. My clients
are commenting that we are progressing
in a positive motion towards a solid recovery
of economic production. In short things
are looking better for the economy.
Now
is the time all companies and individuals
should review both current and future training
and educational needs. Resolve to be the
best prepared as we continue to compete
with global competitors. Continue or begin
to embrace the “constant and never
ending learning” demanded today to
remain in business, this philosophy applied
to self and workforce will help us all
grow. A skilled workforce does not appear
overnight, commit to planning, induce action
for implementation of programs that will
develop productive people and help reach
your goals.
Moving into 2005, Penn Foster is
working hard to maintain our commitment
of excellence to our customers and the
industry. We are striving to provide the
best options in product, delivery methods
and service for the client.
New
improvements and additions to http://educationdirectsales.com/ continue
to assist our clients in daily interactions.
Review our “Partnership Portal”,
then contact Tim to discover the benefits
possible on administration of programs,
time saving and ordering. College programs
from our Center for Degree Studies can
now be reviewed with the new and complete
catalog located on our homepage. Whether
you desire a full degree or just a few
courses for enrichment or credit, the new
catalog delivers and explains many opportunities.
Penn Foster has added many new programs
for the utility industry, updated machine
training and has accreditation for our
High School and vocational programs by
Middle States Accrediting Agency.
Well, here are a few items and potential
areas you may wish to consider as your
organization reviews the training needs
for 2005.
Programs that develop skills in Supervision
for all employees or segmented areas of
a company often provide huge returns for
low investments in time and money. Skilled
workers know and understand the basics
of supervision and tend to assume personal
responsibility for quality efforts and
work. Call Tim to discuss some of our recent
success in this area.
Cross disciplines training is popular,
your skilled worker needs to be further
trained as economies of scale have forced
nearly all organizations to realign and
do more with less. Maintenance training
is a big concern for my clients in the
plant, on the production floor or facilities
maintenance. Call Tim to discuss how Penn Foster can address shortcomings or improve
current skills for higher efficiency and
better productivity.
Budgets should be maximized and clients
deserve the biggest bang for the buck.
Review the blended training approach of
computer based, text based and video to
stretch those dollars. Research your tuition
reimbursement benefit potential for education
and training, many organizations encourage
workers to pursue options and we willing
work with all companies and individuals
to provide measured, accredited quality
training.
